2018 CHATEAU LAMOTHE BOUSCAUT Pessac-Leognan 75cl (Bordeaux, France)
Style - Rich
Grapes - 80% Sauvignon Blanc, 20% Semillon
Tasting - With 30% new oak ageing for 8 months and some lees stirring this is a broader and flesher Sauvignon than you might be used to. All good though. Sweet tropical notes, pastry cream and waxy lemon flavours.
FYI: Being a fan of serious dry white Bordeaux is a bit of a niche interest at best, but we can console ourselves by remembering that until the 1950s more white wine was made in Bordeaux than red.
