2013 BROKENWOOD Graveyard Shiraz 75cl (Hunter Valley, Australia)
Style - Bold
Grapes - 100% Shiraz
Tasting - Not the mocha-chocca bombast of Barossa Shiraz. Graveyard has a slinky and spicy edge to it. There's blackcurrant fruit of course with a seam of earthy, leather and baked plum savour to the finish. Young but irresistible.
FYI: Rated as 'Exceptional' in The Langton's Classification of Aussie wines. The same level as Henschke's Hill Of Grace and Penfold's Grange in quality. But at a quarter of the price. So, as our American chums would say, You do the math.
