Style - Spicy
Grapes - 100% Syrah
Tasting - A little less dense than the La Landonne cuvée but don't mistake that for 'weakness'. This is a beautiful rendition of the Rotie terroir with violets, olives, smoky bacon and coffee beans vying for attention in nose and mouth.
FYI: Although the name Cote Rotie means 'roasted hillside' this is pretty much the northern limit for ripening Syrah in France. Vines often throw out the best grapes when growing at the margins.
