CHATEAU GRAND BOISE - Auro Rouge
2024 • 750ml • 13.5%
- France > Provence > Saint Victoire
- Crusty loaf and pâté de campagne
A proper wild 'vin de nature'. No added sulphites here for those of you who are convinced they give you headache (hint, it's not the sulphites but the alcohol). What that means is the fruit is unabashedly exuberant and altogether lovely. Serve on the cool side.
COLIN'S NOTE
Lovely place Chateau Grand Boise. They have visitor rooms and we highly recommend you go to visit if you can. Tell them Vagabond sent you!
IN SHORT
Juicy, untamed, full of life, a wild Provençal beautiful slightly chilled.
CHATEAU GRAND BOISE
Château Grand Boise isn’t your typical sun-soaked Provence story. Sure, there’s the postcard view of olive trees and lavender, but here they’re doing things the Vagabond way — experimenting, pushing boundaries, and generally having a great time doing it. From a zippy, lemon-laced Vermentino that feels like a sea breeze in a glass, to a unicorn Clairette only bottled in magnums because, well, why not, these are wines made for curious drinkers. And then there’s the amphora-aged Nebbiolo from Provence; yes, you read that right. Wild, weird, and utterly wonderful. This is the kind of range that makes us grin; proper characterful wines that prove the South of France can still surprise you.
