A pinotage rose?! Pinotage is like the awkward librarian in an 90s film that everyone walks past, until its Prom and she has a makeover, to reveal her (or his) striking beauty. Beautifully elegant, with cranberry, rose petal and candied lemon peel.

ELMIE
Husband-and-wife duo Etienne and Lizanda Terblanche are behind the tiny but mighty Maison Terblanche, possibly the smallest rosé specialist in South Africa. Their mission? To flip the script on Pinotage and show its elegant, refreshing side. Etienne comes armed with a PhD in Pinotage and a background in his family’s seaside bistro, while Lizanda swapped human biology and floristry for life among the vines. Together they’re crafting pale, delicate, quietly characterful rosés that carry all the verve of Stellenbosch’s granitic soils – wines full of soul, story and subtle beauty.
