Malvasia is coming out of the depths of the dark ages, and with style! A wonderfully textured wine from letting it age in a concrete egg, with lovely flinty and stone fruit aromas along with a real saline edge, almost almond like. There is a fun electricity about this wine.
COLIN'S NOTE
Only 1200 bottles were produced, and 75% of this was fermented in an concrete egg to provide some great depth in texture.

EXOPTO
Exopto is the Rioja house you need to know. Founded in 2003 by Frenchman Tom Puyaubert, it’s all about bringing old vines back to life on the wild slopes of Sierra Cantabria and Monte Yerga. Think horse-drawn ploughs, hand work in the vineyard, and a mix of Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano from gnarly old bush vines. Tom’s mission is simple — make Rioja that’s honest, artisanal and a bit rebellious, with real personality in every bottle.
